PSPA 600: Group Project
Project Prompt:
The city manager in your town has created a working group to explore further the issues presented in your annotated outline. You and your group members will have DIFFERENT views on how to approach this issue (i.e. some will be arguing to reallocate funds and some to keep police funding in tact). Your group must discuss both sides of this issue (by reviewing the research you did for your individual annotated outlines) and determine how to compromise, resolve conflicting viewpoints and proceed. You will be required to:
-
Review initial data from your annotated outlines relevant to the topic.
-
Discuss where your arguments converge and diverge - determine how you will reconcile your opposing views and what compromise you will move forward with.
-
Gather additional academic and professional evidence to support your NEW argument.
-
Synthesizing the data and evidence you have found and write a policy position paper and summary memo for the council.
Public Presentation:
-
Create presentation of your analysis and recommendations to the city council, maximum 15 minutes.
